[lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]Lady Gaga[/lastfm] sure knows how to create front-page news when it comes to star-studded duets.

She recently teamed up with [lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]Tony Bennett[/lastfm] for his Duets II album, we expect her collaboration with [lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]Cher[/lastfm] to be surfacing soon, and who can forget the epic match up of Gaga and [lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]Beyonce[/lastfm] on “Telephone?”

Now there’s a report that the mother of all duets, featuring [lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]Britney Spears[/lastfm] and [lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]Lady Gaga[/lastfm], could be on the horizon!

According to a source who talked to The Sun, plans for a collaboration were put into motion earlier this month when Gaga showed up in Atlantic City to catch Britney’s concert.

The pop divas met backstage and started to talk about the possibility of recording together.

The unnamed source revealed:

They sat for around an hour gossiping and talking about collaborating together on a track. Gaga already has two songs in mind.

We told you about that meet up just over a week ago!

That night, Britney gave the “Born This Way” singer a shout out, exclaiming, “I have a very special guest here tonight, [lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]Lady Gaga[/lastfm] is here!”

So what could be more exciting than seeing these two team up in the recording studio? Well, the two singers are allegedly going to perform together for one night only in October!

Please, oh please let this be true or else our inner 13-year-old will be crushed!

Until we hear an actual duet, we’ll just have to pretend with this mash-up of [lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]Lady Gaga[/lastfm] and Brit Brit’s versions of “Telephone!”
