With the 2011 VMAs only a couple weeks away, MTV keeps teasing us by leaking details about this year’s bash.

We’re used to hearing news about the performers and presenters, but we were giddy as a schoolgirl when we heard that the one and only [lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]Britney Spears[/lastfm] was getting involved in the festivities.

It only seems appropriate, since Britney is responsible for some of the VMA’s most memorable moments!

So what exactly is going down at television’s most unpredictable awards show? Brit Brit is shedding some light on the subject with a teaser clip!

Britney gave us the heads up on Twitter last night:

The promo features the princess of pop strutting around to a mash-up of her own hits “I Wanna Go,” and “Slave 4 U,” [lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]Janet Jackson[/lastfm]‘s “Rhythm Nation,” and [lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]Madonna[/lastfm]’s “Everybody.”

Why did she choose to feature those pop legends? Because Britney herself said that they are “the people I’ve grown up listening to and totally inspire [me].”

As the scene opens up to a crowd of revelers, she finds herself surrounded by dancers wearing some of her most famous costumes.

I’m walking down a hallway and I’m seeing memorabilia of all my performances that I’ve done in the past. All my dancers are dressed up in my old outfits, which it’s really cool.

The teaser ends with Britney grinding up against a wall emblazoned with the words, “A Tribute To Britney Spears.”

Not much other info is given and MTV says you have to “stay tuned to see what it means.”
