We first met the talented contenders of NBC’s The Voice during the blind auditions, then we picked sides for each battle round, and now we get to decide who stays and who goes during the live episodes!
Yes, now we get to see how the contestants perform under immense pressure and trust me, they didn’t disappoint!
This week, Team Christina and Team Blake stepped up to the plate with some incredible songs and we can’t wait to see how the results pan out next week.
Our very own Carson Daly, the man wrangling in this 3-ring circus, reports back to us each week about what things were really like behind-the-scenes!
So here’s how it works: Last night, all the members on [lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]Christina Aguilera[/lastfm]’s and [lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]Blake Shelton[/lastfm]’s teams performed in front of a live audience.
Next week, America’s vote will send 1 singer to the next round and the 2 coaches will each pick 1 person on their team to save as well.
This means we’ll be sending home 2 people from each team next week.
With all the awesome performances, it’s going to be a super tough decision!
If you missed last night’s episode, don’t sweat it…we have all the highlights right here for you…
[lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]Raquel Castro[/lastfm] — “Blow”
[lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]Christina Aguilera[/lastfm] wasn’t kidding around when she dubbed this girl her little “dynamo!”
Seriously, how much spunk and talent can you pack into this petite pop tart?
I feel like there were better song choices out there to showcase her voice, but she still rocked the [lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]Ke$ha[/lastfm] party anthem.
And did we mention the dancing?? Because it was awesome.Vodpod videos no longer available.
[lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]Jared Blake[/lastfm] — Use Somebody
The bandana-wearing rocker started things off on a high note for Team Blake.
Is it just us, or did he sound EXACTLY like [lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]Kings of Leon[/lastfm]? Uncanny.
Throughout the competition, Jared has stressed that he feels like this is his last chance, but after this stellar performance, he’s put his name on the map!
He got the crowd all worked up, including one lucky lady at the end…Vodpod videos no longer available.
[lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]Beverly McClellan[/lastfm] — “I’m The Only One”
Beverly is certainly the ‘only one’ who can rock a kilt and still completely slay the competition.
She stands out from the others for being a legit female rocker, so that may give her an edge with voters.
Add to that a perfect song choice and it might be enough for her to go all the way!Vodpod videos no longer available.
[lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]Dia Frampton[/lastfm] — “Heartless”
This has to be the most-talked about performance from last night.
It will go down as one of the most unique [lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]Kanye West[/lastfm] covers ever.
If Dia was the one who came up with this arrangement, then we definitely want her to stick around so we can hear more!Vodpod videos no longer available.
[lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]Xenia[/lastfm] — “Price Tag”
The AMP Radio office was split right down the middle about how well the 16-year-old fared last night.
We’re envious of her velvety [lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]Norah Jones[/lastfm] tone, but she just looks way too uncomfortable on stage.
Sure, she’s come a long way since the blind auditions, but is it enough for her to continue on in the competition?
We’ll find out next week!Vodpod videos no longer available.
[lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]Lily Elise[/lastfm] — “Big Girls Don’t Cry”
We already knew Lily Elise had a big, belty voice, but she showed off a more vulnerable side with this [lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]Fergie[/lastfm] power ballad.
It wasn’t a standing ovation kind of moment, but we think she has one of the most promising futures in pop music with her impressive vocal range.
But let’s be real: Blake was right…the “mimes” were a little odd.Vodpod videos no longer available.
[lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]Patrick Thomas[/lastfm] — “I Hope You Dance”
I’m not a big country music fan, but Patrick may be able to convert me.
He dedicated last night’s performance to his sister…adorbz!
With the acclaimed [lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]Blake Shelton[/lastfm] by his side, we might just be witnessing the birth of America’s next major country star.
If Patrick advances to the next round, we’d like to see him try something a little more uptempo.Vodpod videos no longer available.
[lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]Frenchie Davis[/lastfm] — “When Love Takes Over”
It doesn’t take a rocket scientist to realize that Frenchie is a pro at this already.
With all the lasers and dancers on stage, it felt like we were in the audience at her own headlining concert.
That being said, she’s already experienced considerable success on Broadway and even has a Grammy nomination under her belt, so we would expect nothing less than the best.
Do you think Frenchie should take the title or do the other contestants deserve (and need) it more?Vodpod videos no longer available.
- Okay, now that you’re all caught up, go vote for your favorites here! Find out who gets the boot next Tuesday at 9/8c!
