When the Coachella 2011 lineup was announced in January for the April music festival in Indio, I thought THAT was being too early. Now it seems that they’re already going to start selling tickets for next year this Friday!

You’ll also be shocked to hear that the usual 3-day festival will now be held during 2 consecutive weekends. What’s going on!? Simmer down, let me fill you in before your head explodes.

So I mentioned that tickets will start going on sale this Friday at 10am… So, who are you exactly buying tickets to see?

Answer: NO ONE!

Well, OK, that’s not entirely correct. By the time you actually get to the festival there will be artists playing music but they haven’t released a lineup yet which means you’re buying a ticket in hopes that whoever is playing is going to interest you.

I guess most people go to Coachella for the experience and not just for the music, but is this weird to you at all?

Another major change this year is going to be the fact that the festival will be a total of 6 days and not the usual 3, happening on TWO consecutive weekends.

I know you’re thinking, “GREAT, how can I afford THAT??” but hold on a second.

The lineup for both weekends is supposed to be just about the same which means you’ll probably want to go just for only one of the weekends.  The end result is that more people will have a chance to attend one of the biggest music festivals in Southern California.

It’s nice, considering “the more the merrier” but just make sure that your friends are all going on the same weekend.  Otherwise you’ll be pretty lonely partying in the desert by yourself.
