Each week, we’re more and more impressed with what NBC’s The Voice has to offer.

Sure, we may be a tad biased since our morning show guru, Carson, is the host, but these contestants have some serious talent!

Plus, at AMP Radio, we give you something no one else can provide: Carson’s insider info about the contestants, coaches, and behind-the-scenes buzz.

Did your favorite make it through this week’s battle round? Only one way to find out!

Just like last week, each coach pitted two of their teammates against each other in a sing off.

Only 1 survives the battle round and the winner is declared by the contestants’ coach.

Listen to what Carson thought about last night’s show:

Let’s break down each battle!

Nakia vs. Tje Austin — “Closer”

Two standout voices kicked off the show with this [lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]Ne-Yo[/lastfm] hit.

At first, we thought this was the perfect fit for Tje, an R&B master, but Nakia came from behind and delivered a solid performance.

The coaches all seemed pretty conflicted.  [lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]Adam Levine[/lastfm] was glad not to be the coach deciding this battle. He commented:

You guys were both fantastic. I’d be crushed to let either one of you guys go.

[lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]Cee Lo[/lastfm] had a tough decision on his hands, but there could only be one winner…

Elenowen vs. Jared Blake — “Ain’t No Mountain High Enough”

Next up was Team Blake: a pop folk duo versus a seasoned rocker.

We agree with Carson: this was our least favorite performance of the night, but we were happy with the outcome.

This was also the first matchup to feature a group against a solo singer.

You’d think Elenowen would have the edge with their beautiful harmonies, but Jared’s experience and stage presence ended up being a huge factor.

Javier Colon vs. Angela Wolff — “Stand By Me”

I think it’s fair to say that we have a total crush on Javier!

Sure, he may be married with a couple kids, but this guy could sing the phone book and we’d still swoon.

After wowing the coaches in his blind audition, he had quite a reputation to live up to…would Javier continue onto the live shows?

On the other side we have Angela, a sweet-voiced Southern belle that fought tooth and nail to make it to the battle rounds.

There were no bells and whistles for the contestants to hide behind. Coach [lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]Adam Levine[/lastfm] chose a classic [lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]Ben E. King[/lastfm] song that forced both singers to show off their raw talent.

Beverly McClellan vs. Justin Grennan — “Baba O’Riley”

Wrapping up the night was Team Christina.

It seemed like an odd matchup, but their voices blended beautifully on stage.

Justin is the only male contestant on [lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]Christina Aguilera[/lastfm]’s team, so you know, no pressure or anything!

And gritty rocker Beverly left a huge impression on the judges during her blind audition and she was hoping to continue that streak.

But who would be crowned the final winner of the night?

Make sure to watch part 3 of the battle rounds next Tuesday at 10/9C on NBC!
