It’s week 2 of the singing competition, The Voice, and it shows no signs of losing steam.

Ratings were up 10% from last week’s premiere and it’s easy to understand why.

We got to watch another night of exciting blind auditions and even we got all giddy about the surprise twist!

Here at AMP Radio, we have the unique opportunity to watch Carson host The Voice on Tuesday nights and then we get to ask him all our burning questions about the show the very next day!

Listen to what Carson thought about last night’s episode:

If you missed last night’s episode, don’t fret! We’re breaking down our top 5 performances of the evening:

5. Jared Blake – “Not Ready To Make Nice”

After all the invited contestants had auditioned, not all of the coaches had a full team of 8 singers.

At this point, they decided to bring back 8 of the very best who for one reason or another, didn’t get picked initially.

This sure paid off for rocker Jared Blake, who owned the stage with his rendition of the [lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]Dixie Chicks[/lastfm] hit song.

4. Raquel Castro — “Bleeding Love”

At only 16 years old, Raquel Casto is one of the youngest (and most adorable) contestants on The Voice.

The pint-sized teen belted out a gutsy cover of [lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]Leona Lewis[/lastfm]’ “Bleeding Love.”

Coach [lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]Christina Aguilera[/lastfm], who is clearly looking to build a team of powerhouse divas, chose to add Raquel to her ultra-competitve pack.

3. Angela Wolff — “Rolling In The Deep”

Several of the contestants chose to sing this challenging [lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]Adele[/lastfm] track, but Angela really knocked it out of the park.

She too benefited from a second chance to sing in front of the judges, after failing to win them over during her first audition.

This Southern belle was the last person to join [lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]Adam Levine[/lastfm]’s crew, but we have a feeling that with the right songs and coaching, Angela will go far.

2. Lily Elise — “If I Ain’t Got You”

After her first performance, we were shocked when NONE of the judges turned their chair around for Lily Elise.

Even Christina admitted in hindsight that she regretted not picking her.

Thank goodness Lily got a second chance in front of the judges and she totally nailed it.

She joins Team Christina and will battle it out with some talented divas-in-training next week.

1. Tim Mahoney — “Bring It On Home To Me”

Tim managed to surprise judge [lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]Adam Levine[/lastfm] with his flawless cover of the 1960s soul song by [lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]Sam Cooke[/lastfm].

How? Well, the [lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]Maroon 5[/lastfm] lead singer actually thought he was listening to a woman’s voice!

Male or female, it was still a great performance and Tim is moving on.

Next week, the competition gets even more cutthroat.

The coaches will pit their team members against each other in the battle round.

Two singers will each sing the same song at the same time and only 1 will get to advance to the live shows.

It is up to each coach to decide who stays and who goes.

Catch all the excitment next week at 10/9c on NBC!
