Ever since[lastfm link_type=”artist_info”] Lil Wayne[/lastfm] was let out of Rikers in November, we’ve seen him at all the major events, heard him back up his homies on their tracks, and enjoyed his new single (with it’s crazy Inception-style music video) with [lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]Cory Gunz[/lastfm] called “6 Foot 7 Foot.”

We’ve heard promises of Lil’ Wayne’s new album since the day of his prison release (it was supposed to be released that day), but heard nothing.

Now Lil’ Wayne and his crew are claiming that Tha Carter IV will come out on May 16th, although according to Weezy, they’ve been” sitting on it” this whole time.

Lil Wayne told MTV News that his album was done and encouraged his fans to “do him.”

‘Tha Carter IV’ is done. All they need to do is tell Tez [manager Cortez Bryant] to stop sitting on it. Tez, stop sitting on ‘Tha Carter IV’ and put the album out…May 16, believe that. It can come out tomorrow ’cause I’m so finished … ‘Tha Carter IV’ will be dropping May 16. If you’re not doing anything, do me.

One of  Lil Wayne’s Young Money proteges,[lastfm link_type=”artist_info”] Nicki Minaj[/lastfm], said she laid down a verse for the album and Tha Carter IV ” is gonna just be exceptional, of course…I think Wayne is definitely on his grind crazy right now.”

Are you exited for Lil Wayne’s new album? Lil Wayne inquires you not to think about it too much.
