Have we mentioned how crazy excited we are for NBC’s new singing competition series, The Voice? And not just because our morning show host, Carson Daly, will be filling in as the host, but also because they’ve lined up a stellar coaching panel!

We already know [lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]Christina Aguilera[/lastfm], [lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]Cee Lo Green[/lastfm], and Maroon 5’s [lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]Adam Levine[/lastfm] will be there and now there’s word that the final hot seat has been filled…

Country star [lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]Blake Shelton[/lastfm] will join the 3 other coaches when The Voice premieres on April 26! He joked in a statement:

I’m not sure ‘The Voice’ knows what they signed on for by bringing me on the show. I know this for sure; Christina, Cee Lo, Adam and I are going to have a blast and I am extremely excited to be part of a show that recognizes true vocal talent.

Shelton, who’s currently engaged to country singer [lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]Miranda Lambert[/lastfm], took the country music awards season by storm with “Hillbilly Bone,” his duet with [lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]Trace Adkins[/lastfm]. He also won 2010’s Male Vocalist of the Year at the CMA’s.

On The Voice, singers will show off their talents in a blind audition. Yes, that means the judges will only hear the sound of their voice when deciding who will get a spot in the competition!

The coaches will mentor and support the contestants with their own resources and contacts.  America will vote for the grand prize winner and they will awarded with a $100.000 recording contract.

Are you excited for the big premiere? Let us know what you think!
