This morning, [lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]Bruno Mars[/lastfm] tweeted that he released his smoky, colorful video for “Liquor Store Blues” on his website.

Featuring [lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]Bob Marley[/lastfm]’s son, [lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]Damien “Jr. Gong” Marley[/lastfm] and a bluesy-reggae vibe, Bruno Mars’ “Liquor Store Blues” is our favorite Mars song for a plethora of reasons.

Primarily, we love it because it showcases the laid-back swagger we got from Mars when he was in the studio with Carson Daly.

The video is pretty simple, but effective. It’s just Damian Marley and Bruno Mars bro’ing down in what looks like a vintage psychedelic poster with smokey rainbow colors swirling around them.

Vodpod videos no longer available.

Even though the color scheme is similar to Kanye West’s controversial “All of the Lights” video, one might argue that “Liquor Store Blues” would have the opposite effect on the viewer.

Instead of a potential seizure or manic, “Liquor Store Blues” evokes a chill, lackadaisical energy almost as effective as taking “one drag” for your “sorrow.”
