[lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]Aubrey O’Day[/lastfm] has a lot of tiles: singer, dancer, actress, songwriter, fashion designer, but she got her start on MTV’s Making the Band as a founding member of the girl group [lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]Danity Kane[/lastfm].

However, like all fairy tales, her time with Danity Kane came to an end in October 2008 when she was fired from the group. Although she’s remained busy with other endeavors, we haven’t heard much on the music front from the talented singer in terms of new music, until now.

Last month O’Day stopped by the AMP studio to chat with Michelle and revealed that she was in the studio working on music, but in terms of an up and coming album release, nothing was set in stone…yet. Shortly thereafter we stumbled upon some YouTube audio that is believed to be a forthcoming single from O’Day’s new album, set to be released next year.

The song is called “Automatic” and it’s incredibly catchy; you’ll be singing the hook for hours after you hear it. In my opinion, it definitely feels like one of those songs that will make you and your friends want to hit the dance floor as soon as it comes on at the club.

As of right now there’s no word on whether or not there’s going to be a music video, but O’Day’s got excellent dancing skills and a strong work ethic, so chances are it won’t be long until we hear something about the leaked single. It also won’t be long until you can catch O’Day on her new Oxygen Network show The Aubrey O’Day Project, which will chronicle the singer’s attempt to make a comeback in the music industry.

  • So, loyal AMP listeners, what do you think of O’Day’s supposed new single; would you buy it; is it something you can see yourself dancing to? We want to know!
