Eminem and Dr Dre Reunite For I Need A Doctor

We love almost every track [lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]Eminem[/lastfm] touches, but it’s hard to argue that Slim Shady hasn’t done his best work when by the side of [lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]Dr. Dre[/lastfm]. “Forgot About Dre?” “Guilty Conscience?” “Crack A Bottle?” Three hip-hop classics, both brought to you by the Compton-Detroit connection.

Make room for a new one, because [lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]Eminem[/lastfm] has breathed life back into Dre with “I Need A Doctor.”

The post-rehab version of [lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]Eminem[/lastfm] has been fierce on the mic, sounding hungrier than ever, and that delivery gets an extra emotional punch on this one, where [lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]Eminem[/lastfm] lays into [lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]Dr. Dre[/lastfm] with a pep talk that’s half father-son, half drill sergeant.

“Get up Dre! I’m dying and I need you!” [lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]Eminem[/lastfm] screams at the end of his second verse, and it’s hard not to agree.

We don’t know what project it’s heading for – Dre’s long-awaited Detox? A re-release of [lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]Eminem[/lastfm]’s Recovery? – but we have heard that Interscope is aiming at an early 2011 release for Detox. Get ready for the madness.

Meanwhile, let’s take a walk down memory lane with these Dre and Em collabs.
