picture 011 v 2 Carson Daly: Chatting “Bass Down Low” with Dev!

Haven’t heard of [lastfm]Dev[/lastfm]? Think again! She’s the girl singing that crazy addictive hook on Far East Movement’s “Like a G6” and now she’s making waves with her brand new single, “Bass Down Low.”

The latest addition to AMP’s artists came into the studio with her effortless style and chatted about getting discovered and what her plans are for the future making her the perfect person for this week’s Discover artist.

Dev’s a Central Valley native with an electro-indie/hip hop flair.  She was discovered by a fellow Bay Area group called [lastfm]The Cataracts[/lastfm] on MySpace.

[lastfm]The Cataracts[/lastfm] hooked her up with [lastfm]Far East Movement[/lastfm] and before [lastfm]Dev[/lastfm] knew it, her song “Booty Bounce” was being sampled on the hit song “Like a G6.”

The 21-year-old was nursing a sore throat when she arrived this morning and Carson made sure to tease her about it! Check out AMP Radio’s exclusive interview:

Carson: I like where pop music is headed. Do you guys [Dev and The Cataracts] all live together in a warehouse or something?

Dev: Me and The Cataracts live together, yeah.

Carson: You guys do? You live with two dudes?

Dev: I live with, yeah, two dudes.

Carson: So when they’re producing the Far East Movement song, do they just yell out, “Hey Dev, come sing on this hook!”?

Dev: Yeah. They bang on my door. “Can you get on this hook? Can you get on this bridge? Wake up! Wake up!”

Carson: You were on Perez Hilton’s “One Night in New Jersey” a couple days ago.  How was that?

Dev: It was so fun.  It was good.  He held a little thing for females.  It was a diva night.  [lastfm]La Roux[/lastfm] played.  [lastfm]Kelis[/lastfm], you know, stuff like that.  It was dope.

Dev’s in the middle of a massive U.S. club tour.  In fact, she’ll be at The Roxy on November 10!

Can’t get enough of [lastfm]Dev[/lastfm]? Well thank goodness we have her newest song below!
