T.I. “Disappointed” With Prison Sentence

TI Disappointed In Jail Sentence

After violating the terms of his probation, [lastfm]T.I.[/lastfm] is heading back to jail soon, and the Atlanta rapper – as one would expect – is not happy about this turn of events.

[lastfm]T.I.[/lastfm] is “disappointed in the sentencing, but at the same time, it’s far less than what the government asked for,” [lastfm]T.I.[/lastfm]’s lawyer Dwight L. Thomas said outside of an Atlanta courthouse. “This is not what he expected and this is not what he wants in his life at this point and time.”

The 11-month sentence comes on the heels of a traffic stop here in Los Angeles, where [lastfm]T.I.[/lastfm] and his wife were caught in possession of ecstasy.

After the sentence was handed down, [lastfm]T.I.[/lastfm] dropped a new track, “Get Back Up,” featuring [lastfm]Chris Brown[/lastfm]. The song seems eerily prescient, with lines like “My road to redemption has no GPS, so guess time must be invested for this to be manifested.”

How much does the personal struggle of an emcee like [lastfm]T.I.[/lastfm] affect your enjoyment of his music? Does the fact that he’s going through this and can’t seem to stay out of trouble make you look at a song like, say, “Dead And Gone” differently?
