Lil Wayne Welcome Home Weezy Concert Called Off

Cash Money Records can’t seem to get its story straight as to what [lastfm]Lil Wayne[/lastfm] will be up to once he gets out of jail. At first, Drake said that Lil Wayne was planning for a big “Welcome Home Weezy” concert in New York after he gets out of prison, but now Cash Money co-founder [lastfm]Baby[/lastfm] says the incarcerated emcee will “take his talents to South Beach!”

“I think what’s important, we want to see family first,” the rapper formerly (and sometimes still) known as [lastfm]Birdman[/lastfm] said. “If the concert happens, it happens. But right now, we just want to come home and see our family and party, I think. That’s what we gonna do: just come to Miami, and just party for a minute. Work and party and play. Have the whole team out here, and we gonna do it up. Miami is gonna be Weezy world. Weezy weekend.”

November 5th is the tentative date for Weezy’s release from prison. His recent run-in with prison authorities over a stashed set of headphones and an MP3 player did not add time to his sentence.
