It’s been four years since an [lastfm]Outkast[/lastfm] album and Andre 3000’s tracks on Big Boi’s latest solo album were dropped due to a label dispute. But fear not – according to no less of an authority than [lastfm]Big Boi[/lastfm] himself, we will have another [lastfm]Outkast[/lastfm] album in our future!
“The plan is after Dre drops his record, then we’re gonna do the [lastfm]Outkast[/lastfm] record, so that’s the plan for now,” [lastfm]Big Boi[/lastfm] said.
This means two things: 1) There’s an [lastfm]Outkast[/lastfm] album ready to go, and 2) There’s an [lastfm]Andre 3000[/lastfm] album ready, too – hopefully with a good “Hey Ya!” follow-up.
Big Boi’s solo album, Sir Lucious Leftfoot: The Son Of Chico Dusty, came out this summer and got props from critics around the country. And while Andre’s appearances in front of the mic had to be excised due to label politics, he’s still there behind the scenes.
“As a producer they couldn’t tell, so he still appeared as a producer and you know, that’s my partner so any input that he had is definitely welcome,” [lastfm]Big Boi[/lastfm] said.
Labels, no labels, whatever: We need a new “The Whole World” now:
