Kanye West To Host Saturday Night Live October 2

We already told you about Katy Perry heading to 30 Rockafeller Center on Saturday to perform on “Saturday Night Live’s” season premiere. Now, word has leaked that [lastfm]Kanye West[/lastfm] will be the musical guest for the season’s second episode!

West and “Saturday Night Live” have a somewhat checkered history. Yeezy did take to the SNL stage in 2008, performing tracks from 808s and Heartbreak. His live singing, though, left a great deal to be desired, and malfunctions with the autotune equipment didn’t help.

In addition, SNL certainly piled on during the whole controversy with [lastfm]Taylor Swift[/lastfm]. Both Swift and her then-boyfriend Taylor Lautner dissed West in opening monologues (which are normally crafted by the SNL writers) while hosting, and West responded in one of his latest songs, “Power,” with the lines “”F— ‘SNL’ and the whole cast. Tell ’em Yeezy said they can kiss my whole a–.” Well, Ye, you’ll get to tell them in person.

Bryan Cranston of AMC’s “Breaking Bad” (and formerly of “Malcolm In The Middle”)  will be the host.

With so many West songs floating around right now (thanks to the Good Fridays project), what two do you want to see him perform?
