The Worst Moments On Glee

Yesterday we told you about our favorite Glee guest stars, as we begin the ramp-up towards the premiere of season two next Tuesday. Today, well … we love Glee. We love it with all of our musical-theater-loving hearts. But, there are times where creator Ryan Murphy and company take matters a little too far. So, let’s take a look – hopefully for the last time! – at moments from season one that made us want to turn the channel (or throw our remotes through the screen):

[lastfm]Matthew Morrison[/lastfm] Rapping “Bust a Move” – So, it doesn’t work from a talent standpoint, because it’s Matthew Morrison rapping. And it doesn’t work from an ironic or parody standpoint because no one takes the original seriously. So this served…what purpose? Bonus terrible points for the guys yelling “Bust a Move!” in the chorus like a 90s McDonalds commercial.

Terri Is Pregnant, But Not Really – We all know the old joke about the end of intimacy in a marriage, but we are really supposed to believe that there’s no way Will would figure this out by the second or so month. That in eight weeks of living with his wife, he would have always avoided seeing her in enough of a state of undress to see the baby bump?

Glee Versus The Deaf – So the first verse of the deaf choir’s performance of the [lastfm]John Lennon[/lastfm] classic “Imagine” was lovely, with the singer/signer leading his troupe in the New Directions choice room. So why did the brats of McKinley High feel the need to jump up and sing with them? Why couldn’t they let the deaf kids have their moment by themselves? Attention hogs.

Rachel And Her Mom In Fast Forward – We actually love the idea of this, and we think the casting of [lastfm]Idina Menzel[/lastfm] as Rachel’s mom was inspired. So why did almost this entire storyline get burned through in one episode? This could have been the emotional centerpiece for the entire back half of the season! Instead, it’s casually put to the side. Let us savor the good stuff sometimes, “Glee!”

What other moments made you cringe? Or can “Glee” do no wrong in your eyes?
