They say with age comes wisdom, but that doesn’t mean the young are always naive. Despite [lastfm]Kanye West[/lastfm]‘s recent public apology via Twitter for acting the fool and interrupting [lastfm]Taylor Swift[/lastfm]‘s 2009 MTV Video Music Awards acceptance speech for Best Female Video, the 20-year-old blonde beauty knows better than to fall for his bag of tricks.

According to a source close to Swift, she does not consider his apology as a sincere one, but merely a tactic to promote his upcoming album. The source said:

Taylor is furious that Kanye keeps discussing the VMAs incident. She’s fed up of hearing about it and is disgusted that he has the cheek to use her name to promote his new album! Taylor has moved on from the incident and is hoping Kanye will – eventually – do the same.

Kanye, however, said the media is to blame for “getting between” him and Taylor, that he is misunderstood, and that he really is not a bad person. Of the situation, he said:

That moment I was only trying to do good but people don’t always need my help. Beyonce [Knowles] didn’t need that. MTV didn’t need that and Taylor and her family friends and fans definitely didn’t want or need that.

What do you guys think, is Kanye apologizing simply to promote his upcoming album, or is his apology sincere? Let us know in the poll below!
