cbsbritneyspears Britney Spears On Glee: A Little Old, A Little New

Details are leaking from the set of “Glee” about [lastfm]Britney Spears[/lastfm]’ guest star appearance, and it sounds like one of the world’s biggest acts will be in top form!

According to “Glee” creator Ryan Murphy, Britney “was really impressed about how so many kids of the show do what they do because they grew up wanting to be [lastfm]Britney Spears[/lastfm],” he said. “She was really sweet with them. We had a number with a bunch of 8-year-old dancers in the show and she spent a lot of time talking to them, and they did the number for her … She was so sweet, she’s great with kids, she was so awesome.”

That’s certainly a ringing endorsement, but what about Britney’s on-screen colleagues?

“I’m still on a high. It was the coolest thing ever,” said Heather Morris, who plays the ditzy Brittany on the show. “It was really weird to stare at her while you’re wearing the same thing she wore before and you’re like, ‘I wonder what she’s thinking’. It was really cool.”

Jenna Ushkowitz, or “Tina” to fans of the show, even gave a cryptic preview of what to expect.

“You get a little bit of the old Britney and a little bit of the new Britney,” she said.

Murphy, meanwhile, also gave the first known review of the new tracks Spears is working on for her next album.

“I got to hear some of the music she’s putting out later this fall or early next year,” he said. “It’s really a great return to form for her; the songs are amazing so I feel she’s riding the crest.”
