lil wayne Lil Wayne Chillin in Jail, Released In Time For New Album

One of our friends claims she saw [lastfm]Lil’ Wayne[/lastfm] rollin’ down Wilshire Blvd. the other day. We immediately replied, “How is that possible? He’s in jail. ” She laughed and said, “No he’s not. He’s all over the radio!” We were both right.[lastfm] Lil’ Wayne[/lastfm] is still in jail, but he does have four of the top ten selling rap albums of the year. Way to multitask life and prison, Weezy!

Maybe they are letting him off early for good “behavior” or maybe it’s for good record sales, but [lastfm]Lil’ Wayne[/lastfm] is scheduled to cut loose from the clink in November. Although from the way he makes jail sound in his blog post after the break, why would he want to leave?

If you are like our friend and you weren’t aware that [lastfm]Lil’ Wayne[/lastfm] is in jail, he’s been in there about five months for possessing a loaded handgun on his tour bus. He was originally sentenced to a year, but is getting off after eight months on November 4th.

His “milli” status plus his super-huge influence on commercial radio with “We Are Young Money,” the [lastfm]Drake[/lastfm] albums, and his own album,Rebirth, get him special jailhouse privileges. On his blog Weezy Thanx You Wayne shares his daily schedule with his fans:

“I wake up around 11AM. Have some coffee. Call my kids, and my wonderful mother. I then shower up. Read fan mail. Have lunch. Back on the phone. Read a book or write some thoughts down. Have dinner. Phone. Pushups. Then I listen to ESPN on the radio. Read the bible, then sleep. That’s my day.”

That doesn’t sound far off from most people’s typical blissful Sunday.

All this relaxation is apparently having a good impact on his lyric writing. He told his fans that his lyrics are so good, they are indescribable:

“There’s no word that I can think of that properly defines them. Amazing would be too typical and perfect would be unfair.”

These [insert trite, typical, unfair word here] lyrics are sure to show up on his new EP…which comes out two months before he leaves prison. His album Tha Carter IV is scheduled to come out right when [lastfm]Lil’ Wayne[/lastfm] gets to legally walk the streets again. That is undoubtedly impeccable (but probably not “lucky”) timing.

We guess going to jail doesn’t mean you have to “drop the world.”
