jay z nets 600 Jay Z Crosses The Lebron Line

Things for [lastfm]Jay-Z[/lastfm] seem to be going pretty well, he’s got Beyonce at his side and “Young Forever” is one of AMP’s Top Songs this week, but it seems his friendship with Lebron James might be getting the Hova in trouble. Lebron James has been Jay-Z’s most famous friend since joining the NBA. Jay-Z even raps about signing BFF Lebron and Dwayne Wade in his song, “Empire State of Mind” saying:

If Jeezy payin’ Lebron, I’m paying Dwayne Wade.

But is their relationship off the court going to get the twosome in trouble?  Keep reading to find out!

As a minority owner of the New Jersey Nets, and close friend of Lebron James, is [lastfm]Jay-Z[/lastfm] guilty of tampering with NBA free agency?

Can Lebron rap or sing about his free agency plans? Our guess is that it would probably sound something like this:

Gotta win titles, gotta get paid, Where do I go? Chiiiicagggoooo!

It probably wouldn’t be as good as his rapping counterpart and AMP artist [lastfm]Jay-Z[/lastfm], but we think you get the picture.  If they text, email or tweet each other about basketball, is that tampering? Where is the line? What does it look like?

Over the weekend the NBA fined outspoken Dallas Mavs owner, Mark Cuban was fined 100k for comments he made to CNNMoney.com about the possibility of signing the NBA’s biggest prize, Lebron James.

Based on the precedent the NBA is setting here, it sure SEEMS like Jay-Z crossed the line.  What do you think?  Is Jay-Z in trouble for his relationship with Lebron?  We shall see what happens when free agency starts in 37 days from now.
