Last night the Lakers drowned in a sea of BLUE! The Oklahoma City Thunder hosted its first home playoff game in franchise history and to celebrate the event, fans were given blue t-shirts that had the words, “Rise Together” written across the front.  Luckily for the Thunder, this all worked in their favor.

Check out the details after the jump!

The Lakers started the game on a tear taking a quick 10-0 lead. OKC’s Kevin Durant missed his first 7 shots and looked flatter than Kate Hudson’s chest two weeks ago. L.A rolled for most of the first 3 quarters spreading the ball around, finding Gasol and Bynum for easy baskets. Gasol finished the game with 17 points, 15 rebounds and 6 assists.

Late in the 3rd, OKC’s Kevin Durant and Russell Westbrook dominated the game with their speed. The “Zen Master” had to pull his giants off the court and replace them with a smaller, faster lineup, but it was too late.   You’re probably wondering where Kobe was in all of this, he probably is wondering that as well.

Kobe was 2 of 10 in the final frame and finished the game an abysmal 10 of 29 from the field for 24 points. It was clear the game was over when Scotty Brooks switched his defense around and put Durant on him.  Durant’s size and speed gave him an advantage of not only being able to stay with Kobe but pressure his shots.

  • In order to right the ship for Game 4 the Lakers really need to focus on slowing the game down. L.A took 31 3-point shots and missed 21 of them. With two 7-footers in your starting 5, there is NO REASON to take that many 3’s.  Do you agree?  Show us your Laker pride in the comments!
