Rihanna Is No Sell Out

Rihanna takes her artistry very seriously and has a true vision when it comes to telling a story in her music videos.  That’s why she doesn’t like incorporating blatant product placements in her videos, like some other artist we know . . . . Gaga.

In the current issue of NME Magazine, [lastfm]Rihanna[/lastfm] is one of the ten artists featured on the cover for a special edition collection issue of the UK music magazine.  In the spotlight interview for her edition, she tells NME how she’s against the idea of product placement in her videos, but complies because of “political” reasons.

She said, “I hate doing product placement in my videos, I hate it. I think videos should just tell the story of the song. And then with product placement it all just becomes this big ad campaign. Sometimes we have to do it, for whatever political reason, but it’s never my first choice. I don’t like things to be so commercial.” (NME).

Maybe she was referring to the obvious messages thrown in our faces in the [lastfm]Lady Gaga[/lastfm]/[lastfm]Beyoncé[/lastfm] “Telephone” commercial video.  Keep a look out for Rihanna’s special cover issue of NME out today.

Can you count how many products are featured in “Telephone?”

GaGa said in an interview that she didn’t get paid for most of the product placement in her video. Some of them where even made up. She put so many on purpose.

Rihanna dont hate..your not as popular as Beyonce and Lady Gaga. So, if you have so negative comments you should probably tell someone who cares like Chris Brown, oh wait he beat your sorry butt. 🙂
