What a night the 52nd Annual Grammy’s turned out to be, so many great performances straight from the beginning. Lady Gaga hooking up with Sir Elton John, Beyonce and Sasha Fierce rocking the stage (I hope she had some knee padding), BEP’s bringing the futuristic, Taylor Swift living out her fairytale and one of my favorites, P!NK killing it with her intimate, graceful, sparkly and very wet performance of “Glitter In The Air.”  We need to get P!NK a Cirque show in Vegas.  Not to mention the great Travis Barker on drums with Lil Wayne, Eminem and Drake closing out the show with “Forever.”

TURBO TAX MAN – It’s tax season. Time to learn.

Let’s rewind about an hour before the Grammy’s went Live.  I arrived at Staples Center around 4:00pm and the place was packed with fans of all genres of music. Though the fans that stood out the most were the Justin Bieber fans since they were the ones holding up the “I Love J. Bieber” signs.

I made my way through the crowd over to the “Ticket Master” dude and showed him my pass. He let me by and I proceeded to the main lobby for a security check.  NO CAMERAS!!!  After I made it past security they handed us all 3D glasses and Grammy Programs.  The show was close to getting started. At this point should you eat something or wait 3 hours.  During the show no food is served on the second or third levels except candy and sodas.  Which is why it finally made sense to me about half way during the show why everyone in the main first floor lobby of the Staples Center were all eating McDonalds. It was the only thing to eat.   It was everywhere delicious French fries, Big Macs, tender juicy chicken Nuggets and I didn’t consume one bite. I thought I could make it through the entire show. I failed. I ended up spending about 10 bucks for some M&M’s and a diet coke.  Those M&M’s tasted so good at that point.  Anyway, lesson learned next time you go to the Grammy’s eat some McDonalds before the show.

During the show I was surrounded by music fans from NYC, the Midwest and L.A. We were able to see one Artist perform on the Grammy stage as another would set up backstage.  It’s amazing how fast they change up each Artists equipment, dancers and settings. The sound inside the Staples Center was amazing, but the lady next to me screaming for Bon Jovi not so much.  She had been waiting to see Bon Jovi since 1985 so it’s understandable.  After Drake, Eminem, Lil Wayne and Travis Barker closed it out I headed downstairs to watch the final category to be announced, “Taylor Swift!” The show was amazing and I look forward to next years Grammys and a Big Mac.
