The U.S. State Department Operations Center said Americans seeking information about family members in Haiti should call 1-888-407-4747. Due to heavy volume, some callers may receive a recording. “Our embassy is still in the early stages of contacting American citizens through our Warden Network,” the U.S. State Department said in a statement. “Communications are very difficult within Haiti at this time.” [Source: KNX1070.com]

I want to help just got out of the marines as and have many skills that could be very useful to people down there I have done deployments and also operated Heavy Equipment i have plenty of time on my hands right now and can leave tomorrow just do not know how to go about getting there with a organized group. I have sent what money I can but feel I would be of much more assistance going there to help with the recovery. The Kids Who Care Foundation is holding a Walk for sMiles on March 6, 2010. All proceeds from this Walk-Skip-Run-a-thon will go to children in Haiti to buy school supplies and other necessities for them. Please help us walk for children in Haiti!
