Mission:

Giving Children Hope is a faith based nonprofit organization dedicated to alleviating poverty (domestically and internationally) through disaster relief , health and community development, vocational training and advocacy, Giving Children Hope works to promote family sustainability, economic independence, and self-sufficiency so that children may grow in stable environments.

We’ve Got Your Back is a weekend nutrition program for homeless elementary students who have identified by the Orange County of Education as homeless under the Mckinney-Vento Homeless Assistance Act. We’ve Got Your Back provides homeless children with weekend food and nutrition education. We distribute backpacks full of food weekly to elemenatry schools to ensure proper nutrition continues through the weekend for these homeless children.

Goal:

Our goal is to serve every homeless child in Orange County that is going without food and teach them the value of healthy eating through nutrition education.

The Orange County Department of Education identified over 22,000 children in the 2008-2009 school year. This number has doubled from 11,000 in the 2007-2008 school year. Our goal this school year is to enroll 1,000 children on the We’ve Got Your Back program!
