Dodgers are Headed to the National Championship!

The Los Angeles Dodgers swept the St. Louis Cardinals on Saturday at Busch Stadium, and are now headed to The National League Championship. Thousands of fans were left stunned as they watched the St Louis Cardinals season come to an end. The Dodgers clearly set the momentum of the game in the first inning when Manny Ramirez doubled to deep center allowing Matt Kemp to score the first run of the night. Although Manny finally showed up, the star of the night was indeed pitcher Vicente Padilla, who was unemployed just back in August. “Big lineup,” Padilla said through an interpreter for ESPN, “I just tried to make the pitches that I knew I was capable of throwing.” Ethier homered to the right allowing R. Furcal to score, which just reassured victory was on its way! The St. Louis Cardinals never took the lead in game 3, allowing Dodger fans to relax throughout the game! This Thursday a new changed begins as the Dodgers will take on Philadelphia Phillies at home. Yes I know, DEJA- VU from last year.

Since the Angels swept the Boston Red Sox over the weekend, The Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim are now headed to The American League Championship.  Angels are now scheduled to play at New York this Friday against The Yankees. I don’t know about you, but in LA the broom might just be our next new logo. What I do know for a fact, Angelinos would love to see a Freeway World Series! Many of you might ask what is a freeway series- it’s when the Dodgers face off with the Angels. Would you like to see a Freeway World Series in Los Angeles, let me know what you think? Or are you like me hoping the Dodgers take it all since they haven’t been to a World Series since 1988, and the Angels won in 2002. This is what Ethier told the LA Times: “Joe sits down,” Ethier said, “the first words to come out of his mouth are, ‘Our goal is to win the World Series from this day forward.’ ”  I agree Joe, LA is ready to celebrate!
