Jay-Z Declares "Death of Auto Tune"

Jay-Z has officially killed the auto-tune. Hova released a new single this weekend titled “D.O.A.” or “Death of Auto-tune.” Not being a fan of the vocal effect, I am pretty glad Jay-Z didn’t hop on the bandwagon like so many other rappers. Musical politics aside, the song is pretty good. Jay-Z shows off his very out of tune voice during the hook, singing a ’60’s classic that also has been sampled by Wale, and using an old school jazz beat.
The video is great too! No spinners, no video hoes, nobody dancing in the street representing their hood. Jay-Z spends most of the video in a New York restaurant that looks like it could have been owned by John Gotti. Take a look at it for your self and let us know what you think.

Jay-Z has always been on the cutting edge. Eliminating Auto-Tune will definitely thin out the herd of who’s got the vocal chops and who’s faking the funk!
Before Auto-Tune there was a device called “Golden Throat”. One person used it and that was it. Music used to be so original. But since the Auto-Tune made it way to ears of music listeners, music has been dumb down. before
