Lakers Go Up In Smoke In Game 3

Kobe Bryant in Game 3 against the Orlando Magic.

After two back-to-back harrowing wins in Games 1 & 2, the Lakers suffered a staggering defeat in Game 3 to the Orlando Magic losing 104-108.  Unable to take an early lead, the Lakers trailed for most of the game, which was in part due to Dwight Howard and Rasheed Lewis scoring 21-points a piece.  At the half, the Lakers were down by 5 points, and though they were able to come back in the fourth quarter, scoring 29-points to the Magic’s 27, it wasn’t enough to take over the lead and win the game.

Kobe Bryant scored 31-points, but only 10 of those were in the second half.  He went only 4 of 15 from the field after the first quarter as well, having some people look at Bryant as the broken tool of last night’s game.  However, it takes a team effort to lose, just as it does to win, and the Lakers just couldn’t seem to get their mojo flowing for most of the game.  In the 4th quarter, when the Lakers tied with the Magic 99-99 with only 2:41 left in the game, it looked like the Lakers could steal the game in the end.  Sadly, for Lakers fans everywhere, the team just couldn’t pull off the defeat.  Looking forward to Game 4 and 5, hopefully the Lakers can reestablish themselves and win, but people have their doubts.  What do you think?  Take our poll to let us know!
