Rolling Stone’s “The Liberation of Adam Lambert” has confirmed what most people figured out a long time ago: Adam Lambert is gay.
“I don’t think it should be a surprise for anyone to hear that I’m gay,” he tells the mag. “Right after the finale, I almost started talking about it to the reporters, but I thought, ‘I’m going to wait for Rolling Stone, that will be cooler,’ ” he said.
He opens up to the magazine about a psychedelic experience that encouraged him to try out for Idol, his childhood, the show and what direction his upcoming album will take, which he says will draw from the genres of music he’s into, including rock, pop, funk, electronica and dance music.
He wants his sound to have a “glam edge” with modern production and electronic treatment on everything to make his music sound “futuristic and current.” He hasn’t started the album yet, but ideas are on the table, so we’ll keep you posted!
In other cover news, Gwen Stefani steps out of her mommy role to play cover girl for Elle Magazine’s July issue.
The No Doubt rocker wears lots of trends from summer and fall ’09, including statement jewelry, thigh high black boots, acid wash jeans, plaid, layered textures and prints, booties, and of course her trademark red lipstick.
Check out what she had to say on how her priorities have changed from band to family:
“I wasn’t even married. Now I’m a wife and a mother of two. It’s a really different role. I always referred to No Doubt as a marriage, because that’s what it’s like to be together for so long and go through what we’ve been through. I can’t really have that relationship with them anymore. My priorities are always going to be my husband and my family now. That’s a huge, huge thing.”
Can’t wait to see her rock out on tour this summer and hear the new album!
