After Jessica Simpson’s last pop album tanked, it was no surprise that she decided to switch gears and sign with a country music label. Initially, she claimed to have quit pop music entirely to focus on her country music career. But now that her country music career has become a veritable bust, it appears the singer will be returning to her pop roots.
Yesterday it was announced that Simpson had been dropped from her country music label, Sony Nashville, who was responsible for putting out her most recent country album . . . which tanked. However, Simpson’s camp claimed that she wasn’t dropped from the label, but was simply on loan from Epic records. This may mean Simpson plans on doing another pop album.
But now that Simpson’s relationship with Sony Nashville is over, will Epic want another album out off her? Let’s face it, Public Affair was sub par, so I can’t say I’m dying for it’s followup, but I am sort of curious to hear the direction she’d end up going and how her fans would react.
But what’s bringing her even more attention these days is her hamburger toting double in Eminem’s new video for “We Made You.” His upcoming album, Relapse, hits stores May 19. He did not hold back when poking fun at Jessica Simpson’s latest diet frustrations. Click here to see Jessica in all her daisy duke glory and then some. Watch.
What do you think about Jessica Simpson’s career? Would you like to see her return to her pop roots or are you tired of her altogether? Leave your opinions in the comments!

I’d love to see and her family just go away. I’m tired of talentless people hogging the headlines. Can anyone name a song she’s performed?

Yeah I would like to see her go back to pop music. I wasn’t that fond of her going to country music in the first place. But today’s Pop Music is very challenging. So if she does go back to pop (which I hope) she will need a great album.
